Possible jaundice?

my skin is a very light yellow colour and the doctor told me if it were jaundice it would be very yellow like mustard colour, but the whites of my eyes are yellow. he reckons its a protective layer of thick skin that my body has created over my eyes, i reckon thats bull sh*t.wot do u reckon?
Answer:
I'd get a second opinion cause it sounds like you have jaundice to me.
I'd go for a second opinion quick.
get a second opinion, see a different doctor for reasurance
I would get a second opinion really soon. Because if it is jaundice that means yor liver and kidneys are not working right and thats serious business.
both the signs are of jaundice but honey ur missing the most important poiint. U CANT EAT IN JAUNDICE! You will throw up like a mad...even a small piece of bread or pasta will just make u puke. especially fatty food will want u to throw up more than u ate. Its just water that feels ok and is the cure for jaundice too. Loads and loads of water (and fat/grase/meat free foods). Start with small portions. I agree with Stodgers and Mikie. But no need for a test if ur pee isnt orangish/brownish yellow. Also plz stay out of the sun.Ive had jaundice previously,
i reckon hes a doctor, so he should know what hes talkin aboutgo to another doctor and get a 2nd opinion
i would get a second opinion from a different doctor.
Pale motions and dark wee too ?
In any case a simple blood test for bilirubin levels will see who's bullshiffing
Well my first thing to ask is why you would be jaundiced? It's typically a sign of a liver problem. Do you have liver or pancreatic problems? Jaundice is a very noticable thing. It's not a light yellow like yellow undertones to skin - it's day glow yellow - almost like an orange color. As for yellowing of the whites of the eyes, many people of color have a slightly white conjunctiva (the white area) and in jaundice it's VERY yellow. If you feel you may be a little jaundiced, spend time out in the sun. The sun produces vitamin D in the body and helps break up bilirubin in the blood system.
I reckon it's Jaundice my friend, Especially if you're a heavy drinker or have any kind of liver disorder, which I hope not.
The symptoms of jaundice are extreme weakness, headache, fever, loss of appetite, severe constipation, nausea, and yellow discoloration of the eyes, tongue, skin, and urine. The patient may also feel a dull pain in the liver region. Obstructive jaundice may be associated with intense itching.
Jaundice may be caused by an obstruction of the bile ducts which normally discharge bile salts and pigment into the intestine. The bile gets mixed with blood and this gives a yellow pigmentation to the skin. The obstruction of the bile ducts could be due to gallstones or inflammation of the liver, which is known as hepatitis, and is caused by a virus.
Other causes of jaundice are haemolytic anaemia and certain diseases affecting the liver such as typhoid, malaria, yellow fever, and tuberculosisYour doctor could be right but if you are having any of the other symptoms i would deffinately get a second opinnion.
this is symptoms of jaundice, so i would say it is.
It might be Jaundice and sometimes it can go away with certain procedures, Keep a eye on it and have your liver check often. Take Care.
to diagnose a jaundice disease, doctors should perform general blood test, liver function test and also urine and stool test. have u undergone these test? We cannot say this is jaundice by just depending on your skin colours or eye colours.
Please have your Doctor schedule a liver biopsy !! Don't mess around with this !! They can perform miracles today !!! But they have to catch it in time ! It is better to be safe then sorry !
See another doctor. Ask for a blood test called LFT's (liver function test). This will show the amount of bilirubin in your blood, if your bilirubin is above 17, it is abnormal and it will be classed as jaundice. As other people have said, you may have dark urine and pale stools too. This is because bilirubin is in the wrong place. Out of curiousity, how old are you? and do you drink, do you have any family history of liver disease, have you been to an exotic country recently, shared needles, had a tattoo, taken any new drugs or herbal drugs recently? these are all risk factors for liver disease hepatitis etc.
